The meeting focused on technical solutions to improve railway performance, particularly in challenging environments. Key points of discussion included: Sandy Soil Solutions: The parties discussed the possibility of testing the installation of under-sleeper pads (USP)—specialized rubber pads attached to the bottom of concrete sleepers—to increase track stiffness and stability in the sandy soil conditions of the Gobi region. Long-Welded Rail (LWR) Optimization: Collaboration opportunities were explored to improve the operational conditions and maintenance of continuous welded (seamless) rails. Ongoing Cooperation: Pandrol representatives expressed their gratitude for the successful partnership on the current Bagakhangai–Khushig Valley branch line project.
